Crosscountry

Just this fall, I began running for my school's (Walnut Hills High School) junior high crosscountry team. I have improved a great deal, and now I can run two miles in 14:40. I still have a lot of improvement though. In fact, during the spring I will begin running track. Here are my times for the 2006 (Fall) Season.

Meets and Their Corresponding Times

Xenia Christian-16:04

New Richmond-14:40

Lakota-15:06

Harrison-15:07

FAVC/Mason-14:55

Colerain-14:51

The meets are list from first to last, as in from September to mid-October (not a very long season at all - if you ask me - but enough, I guess, for a start). If you're puzzled by the names, just remember that I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. Those places, like Colerain, are not too foreign if you look on a map or live in Cincinnati. Also, FAVC stands for Fort Ancient Valley Conference. It consists of many teams at schools from around southwest Ohio. Fort Ancient comes from the name of a local Native American archeological site. If you want learn more, just try Googling it. I believe Google works on SDF. Anyway, as you can see by my times, I'm not a great runner, but I am at least okay. In physical education I couldn't believe it that some people ran a mile in more than ten minutes. I had run a mile in sixth grade (I'm in eighth grade now) in 8:10 and that seemed to be slow. Now I run it in 6:51. But, as always, with a little practice, anyone can improve.*
