Walnut Hills Junior Engineering Technology Society (JETS)

For two years I have been part of the JETS team at Walnut Hills High School. This year I am president. We participate in two competitions, the National Engineering Design Challenge (NEDC) and Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science (TEAMS). In NEDC teams develop devices to help individuals with disabilities (e.g. tremors) in the workplace. Meanwhile, TEAMS is a multiple choice and essay test on various engineering challenges (e.g. engineering a fast food restaurant). For more information, click here. In NEDC, we got to the semifinals in 2009, 2010, and 2011, and reached the finals in 2010 - placing among the top five teams in the competition. In TEAMS we consistently have placed among the top teams in the state and in the nation. We placed first in Ohio and 16th nationally in 2010.
