Urban Transit Systems

*Under Construction* More to come in 2011! This page will include photos of streetcars and thoughts on the Cincinnati streetcar project. It will also include pictures and thoughts on the Cincinnati Metro system (SORTA).

A map of the proposed Cincinnati Streetcar lines (extensions in orange):

I live near Dayton, Ohio, which is one of the few American cities to have a trolleybus system. The system has been updated in recent years and is operated by the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority (GDRTA, formerly MVRTA). The system will soon add hybrid buses to its fleet, making it one of the greenest in Ohio!

I have always been a fan of the rail transit systems in Cleveland and Pittsburgh, the systems geographically closest to Cincinnati. Hopefully Cincinnati will join them soon!

Cleveland RTA Red Line:

Pittsburgh T light rail:

Seattle's downtown bus/light rail tunnel has also always interested me, perhaps due to its uniqueness:
